HEARTS & VALENTINE WISHES

* This post was updated. Take note of the date of our upcoming activity.

PROJECT NAME: HEARTS & VALENTINE WISHES

“When the angels have flown back to the heavens;
When the wise men have gone home to their lands;
And the shepherds have returned to their flocks;
Then, the true work of Christmas begins. . .
To feed the hungry;
To attend to the sick;
To provide shelter to the homeless;
To give justice to the oppressed.”

February is the month of Hearts and loving Valentine Wishes. It is the month of LOVE. Love must be expressed so that the object of the affection can feel and delight in its glow. This Valentine, the BCE Scholars will again show their love and respect for the elderly by giving a special treat to indigent seniors from the different barangays of Pasig City.

Let us make the true work of Christmas begin in us!

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

1. To raise funds for the various outreach projects of the BCE Scholars for the needy;
2. To enhance the participation of the BCE Scholars in the Lingap sa Barangay by way of providing free milk and buns to the indigent children during the activity.
3. To explore and develop the BCE Scholars’ creativity and resourcefulness by encouraging and promoting the creation of beautiful commemorative ornaments out of recycled waste materials or excess supplies from previous projects.

PROJECT MECHANICS:

1. The BCE Scholar is encouraged to exercise his creativity and resourcefulness by creating any Valentine ornament such as Valentine cards, bookmarks, key chains, notebook covers, picture frames, heart-shaped pin cushions and other useful / decorative items fashioned out of scrap materials to be given away as token gifts to the donors.
• Stretch your imagination. You may have other good ideas regarding the project. Don’t be afraid to explore new ideas.
• Don’t be limited to the color red, the color of Valentines . Fell free to use any color of your choice.
• Workmanship is very important. Your work must be neat, sturdy and presentable. Remember our works are our signatures. Make yourself proud of your output.
• Choose the right size for your project. Big or small—whatever you think is best.

2. The project output must first be presented to the BCESP Office for approval and quality control before they can be given away as tokens. Once approved, you will be provided with the labels that to show that your outputs are projects of the BCE Scholars.

3. Quantity. 4- 5 pieces. Not necessarily uniform in design.

Deadlines:

• Presentation of project output to the BCESP office for approval and quality control: January 17- February 8, 2010.
• Turn-in of solicited funds for the BCE Scholars ‘ Project Outreach Fund : February 15, 2010

BCE Scholars’ “Treat Kina Lolo at Lola” – February 22, 2010, Monday, 7:30 – 11:30 A.M. Pasig City Sports Center.
In lieu of the Christmas Party that was cancelled due to Typhoon Ondoy, we will party on this occasion as we honor and pay tribute to the Lolos and Lolas.

“Give A Gift of Love This Christmas”

December 15, 2009

Only 4 days to go and it will be Saturday, December 19. What’s important about this date? It’s the BCE Scholars’ outreach project --- “Give A Gift of Love This Christmas”. We don’t have much to offer in terms of material wealth but we can always share in our own little way and still MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The bloodletting will start at 7:00 A.M. at the 5th Floor, Pasig City Hall and last until 11:00 A.M. Be one with us in this worthy project. We will give 20 points credit to successful donors. Those who will be processed but will be turned down due to health reasons will get 10 points. Of course, those who will not come will get zero credit. Since minors are not allowed to be blood donors, the parents and other family members can substitute for their children.

The allowances payroll for November and December are still in process. There is no schedule for their release yet, but we hope to give them out before the year ends.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Let’s Make the diff’ !
